Wine Secret Exposed While Biking in Maipo Valley, Chile
The vineyards of the Maipo Valley just southeast of the Santiago metropolis in Chile are special indeed. Upon our approach by van, their rustic fields and simple roads provide no hint of the special rewards offered by their climate and within its vines. These vineyards are almost surrounded by arid mountains with a warm, yet temperate, climate that is bathed in fog and cool winds on many a summer night. These are the conditions that yield a grape unique to all the world.
As we mount our bikes and ride through the vineyards and by the haciendas of 3 family-owned vineyards, we learn how they produce a world class wine. Its the climate that creates what many would argue is the perfect grape. Grapes from this valley produce the purest, most natural wines.
Their nectar need only be fermented with yeast and water. No sugar is added. All the sugar required for a quality wine is contained within the grape. The grape’s nectar and fiber is so nearly perfect that it can be purchased before fermentation so even hobbyists can make a good wine since much of the guesswork during fermentation is removed.
The next time you shop for a nice bottle of wine, I recommend that you search for a label which states its grapes are from the Maipo Valley in Chile. It produces the purest wine.
